Remembering the old tymes with Kelly
I’m usually off on Saturdays but I didn’t want to miss seeing former Kings goalie Kelly Hrudey get celebrated on this 2nd and final Kings legends night of the season. It was a nice pregame ceremony with Hall of Fame voice Bob Miller introducing the guy who led the Kings to their only other Stanley Cup final appearance exactly 20 years ago (and it feels like yesterday-almost!).
Kelly was gracious enough to give me a few minutes between periods of his Hockey Night in Canada broadcast to share his emotions on what was a special night for he and his family who were here with him at center ice.
Kelly and I like old tymes:

The current Kings celebrated nicely too with an easy 6-2 win over the Calgary Flames and the following are my postgame interviews with a few of them.

And now it’s a Sunday basketball doubleheader with the Lakers followed by the Clippers…not a good night to lose an hour of sleep. Just remember to set your clocks ahead an hour and happy Daylight Savings time!
